Steve's Technical Assignments

Technical Assignment 1

This first assignment has made me familarize myself with the project I am working on and its scope of work. This first basic analysis will be the cornerstone of which my further thesis will be base on. The report enclosed summarizes the existing construction conditions for the Plaza East Project, the buildings construction process, and scope of work. Information throughout the report is divided into eight sections: a project schedule, buildings systems summary, project cost evaluation, site plan of existing conditions, local conditions, client information, project delivery system, and a staffing plan.

Technical Assignment 2

Technical Assignment 2 further elaborates on the first report. It is a more in depth analysis of the cost and methods of the project. Included in this report are: a detailed project schedule, site layout plans, an essembly estimate, a detailed structural system estimate, and a general conditions estimate.

Technical Assignment 3

The final Technical Assignment contains the topics that will be analyized and research for the thesis proposal. This report includes summaries of discussions had at this years PACE Roundtable Meeting and a current critical industry issue which will be researched next semester. The last few sections identify project specific problems and ways to solve them. The end of this report displays a weighted matrix that depicts the distribution of effort that will be expected these areas of research.

The Capstone Project Electronic Portfolio (CPEP) is a web-based project and information center. It contains material produced for a year-long Senior Thesis class. Its purpose, in addition to providing central storage of individual assignments, is to foster communication and collaboration between student, faculty consultant, course instructors, and industry consultants. This website is dedicated to the research and analysis conducted via guidelines provided by the Department of Architectural Engineering.
